...We have answers!
Q: Do you have branch locations?
A: Anresco Laboratories is headquartered in San Francisco, CA and maintains branch offices in New York, Los Angeles and Ft. Lauderdale. Sample pickup is available for a sampling fee in these metropolitan areas. If you are not in our immediate vicinity and you have an FDA detention in any FDA district, we work with qualified samplers to perform third-party sampling in all other US cities. Or, non-FDA samples can be submitted to our laboratories directly by any overnight delivery service.
Q: Is Anresco a GLP laboratory?
A: Currently, Anresco Laboratories is not a GLP laboratory. However, we have a comprehensive quality program based on many of the elements required of GLP and ISO-accredited laboratories, and we hope to become a GLP laboratory in the near future. A copy of our quality manual is available to our customers upon request.
Q: Is your laboratory FDA-approved?
A: The FDA does not formally approve laboratories for FDA import detention testing even though the FDA's Detention Without Physical Examination (DWPE) Program depends heavily on private laboratories to perform analytical testing of imported products. However, Anresco submits analytical reports to the FDA for review daily and maintains a good working relationship with the FDA in all import districts.
Q: Can you tell me the method and detection limit for the analyses that I require?
A: Specific information about detection limits or analytical methods is available upon request. Our detection limits will vary depending on the sample matrix and analyte concentration. If you have specific requirements for test methods or detection limits, please be sure to alert us prior to submitting your samples for testing.
Q: How will results be submitted to me?
A: Unless otherwise instructed, all results are issued as a signed report on Anresco Laboratories letterhead and faxed to our client. Reports can also be electronically submitted to our clients as an email with an Adobe Acrobat attachment. The original report will then be sent to you, along with an invoice. All FDA reports are first faxed to our client along with an authorization page -- you will need to review the report, sign the authorization sheet and fax it back to us. The original is then sent to the FDA via overnight delivery and an invoice is prepared and sent to you, along with a copy of the report.
Q: How long will my sample and analytical data be kept?
A: Samples submitted for testing will be stored at our laboratory for a minimum of 30 days from sample receipt. Highly perishable items are kept for as long as possible. Reports and hardcopies of raw data kept in our files for a minimum of 5 years. Electronic copies of all reports are also scanned and retained for at least 5 years. If you have retention needs that exceed these time periods, please contact us personally. There may be a charge for the recovery of this information from storage that is dependent on the the storage location and the volume of material requested.
Q: Will my analytical results be shared with any other parties?
A: Strict confidentiality is maintained in all interactions with our clients. Our confidentiality statement is available on our website and confidentiality agreements will be signed willingly upon request. If information is subpoenaed by a regulatory or legal body, you will be notified as soon as possible.
Q: What if I can't find a particular analysis on your price schedule?
A: The price schedule that is available on our website is updated continually and lists most of the analyses that are routinely performed here at Anresco Labs. If you are unable to locate a particular assay that you require on our price schedule, please contact us at (800) 359-0920 for additional information. We have the analytical capability to run many assays that are not listed on the price schedule for practical reasons, and furthermore, we are always open to the possibility of adding new tests if our customers have a specific need for an assay. If Anresco is unable to meet your requirements, we are happy to suggest other laboratories that might be able to assist you.
Q: How do I submit a sample for testing?
A: You can download or print Anresco's submission form (entitled "Chain of Custody") directly from our website. Fill out the required information on the chain of custody form and submit it along with the sample. Be sure to include your complete contact information, name of product, lot numbers (if necessary), analysis required and turnaround time desired. We encourage our clients to contact us with questions prior to submitting a sample to avoid unnecessary delays. Any such special instructions regarding billing, sample receiving and analysis per your discussion with us should then be indicated on the form as well.
Q: I have never worked with Anresco before, are there any special requirements of new clients?
A: New clients are required to submit prepayment the first time they submit a sample. Please call (800) 359-0920 for pricing. In cases where prepayment is a major logistical inconvenience, the client will be asked to print and submit a credit application, which is available on our website. For new clients, it is very important that you call Anresco prior to submitting a sample, to alert us that your sample is coming in.
Q: How much of a sample do I need to submit?
A: Sample sizes will vary depending on the analyses that need to be performed and the sample matrix. In general, we need approximately 1-2 lbs. of product for Nutrition Facts labeling by chemistry, If you feel you do not have enough of a sample to submit or if you need additional information, please call customer service at (800) 359-0920.
Q: Will the results from my sample be representative of my entire lot?
A: Representative samples are critical for accurate analytical results. To take a representative sample of your lot, be sure to submit multiple samples for us to either composite into one sample or to run multiple analyses. Samples should be randomly selected from different cartons in your lot.
Q: Where do I send samples for testing?
A: Samples should be submitted to our headquarters at Anresco Laboratories, Attn: Sample Receiving, 1370 Van Dyke Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94124. To submit a sample to one of our regional laboratories, please contact Customer Service at (800) 359-0920 prior to sending a sample.
